Partnerships are central to the delivery of Rare Cancer Australia (RCA) projects, programs and initiatives. Put simply, without the support corporations, local businesses and community organisations, we would not exist.
Over the past 3 years RCA has made great progress in raising awareness of the challenges faced by Australians with a rare and less common cancer. Through its constant media presence, policy research program, signature events and co-operation with other cancer groups, RCA has been instrumental in significantly raising the profile of rare cancers and in particular the issues rare cancer patients face in accessing lifesaving and life-extending treatments through the PBS.
It is imperative that RCA continue this work so that we can achieve better outcomes for this group of cancer patients and their families. Join us and help save the tens of thousands of Australians diagnosed each year with a rare and less common cancer.
There are many ways in which you can partner with us:
Sponsorships are needed for a number of events held throughout the year. Proceeds from these events help fund important work in research, advocacy, patient support and treatment, community education and awareness.
Our flagship events include:
- Halloween Charity Ball
- The Canberra Forum
- The Mount Kosciuszko Challenge
Patient Treatment Fund
Being diagnosed with a rare cancer is a major challenge for tens of thousands of Australians every year. For many this devastating news comes with the additional burden that their finances and lifestyle will be seriously undermined as they struggle with their deteriorating health and burdensome expenses. In many instances Australians are missing out on life saving and life extending treatments because of affordability.
Our Patient Treatment Fund has raised over $3,000,000 to help Australians with rare and less common cancers access treatment not currently approved for PBS funding. With your help and generosity, we can make a real difference and create better outcomes for rare cancer patients and their families.
About the fund
Cause related marketing
Your company’s association with RCA can increase a consumer’s purchasing decisions. It allows the consumer to incidentally donate to a great cause without too much effort. This gives you an edge over your competitors, creates positive brand perceptions and ultimately increase your bottom line.
Join us and demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to helping the tens of thousands of Australians battling a rare or less common cancer. Align your product/service with our cause and together we can create a positive impact on rare cancers within our communities.
RCA welcomes all expressions of interest for cause related marketing opportunities. We can work with you to determine the right type of collaboration.
Donating a major prize is a simple an effective way in which organisations can help make a difference and also achieve brand exposure for their service/product.
We hold major raffles and conduct auctions at our events and are continuously seeking support of this nature. Ultimately, your donation will contribute to a great cause whilst fulfilling both your corporate social responsibility and marketing commitments.
This is a great way for business owners to help support a worthy cause. Commit to displaying a donation box and help raise funds and much needed awareness. No amount is too little and all proceeds will go towards helping RCA deliver its programs in aid of rare cancer patients and their families.
Tapping into Australia’s coffee culture
Australia is a nation of coffee drinkers. The average Australian spends $1825 a year on take away coffee. Australia is also one of the world’s most charitable countries. So let’s work together and use coffee to help the 52,000 Australians diagnosed with a rare and less common cancer.
Commit to sticking our Sick or Treat stickers on your take away coffee lids in the 2 weeks leading up to Halloween and help spread the message.
If you are a socially minded café owner or think your local café should get behind this great cause. We want to hear from you!
Please contact RCA direct on (02) 4862 2768 should you wish to partner with us.
