About the Kosi Challenge

Each March, we bring together the rare community to climb to the summit of Australia’s highest peak, Mt Kosciuszko for our major annual fundraiser.

The Kosi Challenge started with a small group back in 2013, and has now grown to run over two days. Hundreds of climbers join in-person at Thredbo, alongside virtual climbers who take on the challenge from anywhere in Australia or even around the world!

Kosi unites people from across Australia, including patients and their families, industry, businesses, community groups and more.  It raises much-needed funds and awareness for people in Australia affected by rare, less common and complex cancers.

No one should have to go through their cancer journey alone. That’s why we walk the journey with those impacted.

Get involved

You can support Kosi in one of three ways:

  1. Register to join us in-person at Thredbo in March. Here, you can hike from Thredbo Village to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko, or catch the chairlift to Eagles Nest before continuing your hike to the summit
  2. Register to participate virtually, creating your own challenge wherever you are in the world! Whether you walk around the block or take on an epic hike, every step counts raising funds and awareness for rare
  3. Make a donation. Even if you can’t join us on the walk, all donations help us to change the story of a rare cancer diagnosis through our limitless support for patients and their families.
