Medicines Access Portal (MAP)

Facilitating faster access to the latest treatments.

The Medicines Access Portal (MAP) is a single, secure online portal that allows clinicians to view the Compassionate Access Programs and Special Access Programs that pharmaceutical companies have available for cancer patients in Australia.

Why it was developed

Access programs are not publicly advertised and are difficult and time consuming to uncover individually. Traditionally, clinicians have had to rely on general knowledge or word-of-mouth to access, or even be aware of, new and potentially life-saving treatments for their patients.

The Australian-first MAP portal, developed by RCA and Medicines Australia (MA), lists these access programs in one central location. This makes it faster and easier for busy clinicians, including those in regional areas, to learn about the latest treatment options for their patients with complex, life-limiting cancer.

The MAP is approved and endorsed by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and is available to AHPRA-registered medical practitioners and oncology pharmacists only.
