Cancer Australia seeks consumers to participate in research grant review

April 29, 2022

Consumers play an integral role in Cancer Australia’s research programs

Cancer Australia is currently seeking expressions of interest from consumers to participate in reviewing research project grant applications as part of their Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme. This is an innovative, competitive, annual cancer research projects grant funding scheme, conducted by Cancer Australia in partnership with other funders of cancer research. Cancer Australia and its funding partners value the involvement of people affected by cancer in all aspects of the scheme, including the review of research grant applications.

This is an open, national call for Expression-of-Interest from people interested in being part of Grant Review Committees for the scheme.

  • Experience in the review of research grants is desirable; however, these skills are not essential because Cancer Australia will provide the appropriate training.
  • Training will be undertaken over two days in Cancer Australia’s Sydney and Melbourne offices in August/September 2022.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and male consumers are encouraged to apply.

The Expression-of-Interest form and background information is available on the Cancer Australia website at: https://www.canceraustralia.gov.au/research/priority-driven-research/consumers-and-grant-review-committees

For further information please contact Nathan Borg, Project Manager, Research and Clinical Trials, Cancer Australia: (02) 6217 9805 or [email protected]

Applications close: Wednesday, 25 May 2022.
