Sock it to Sarcoma!

Sock it to Sarcoma! was the vision of Abbie Basson, who was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in May 2009 at the age of 17. It was her hope to make a difference to the lives of those with Sarcoma by improving awareness and raising funds to support vital Sarcoma research.

Our mission is to bring together researchers, clinicians and the community to provide treatment and give support to sarcoma patients and their families. Ultimately, Sock it to Sarcoma!’s vision is to make all sarcomas curable. Sarcomas can be difficult to diagnose, which can lead to delays in patients receiving life- saving treatment.

Sock it to Sarcoma! raises funds to support medical research in Western Australia, promotes awareness and educates the community about sarcomas. We provide patients and their families support and care throughout every aspect of their sarcoma journey.

Sock it to Sarcoma! strives to improve quality of life for people living with sarcoma by:

  • Supporting patients and their families at all stages of the sarcoma journey
  • Raising awareness within the community and health profession to improve early detection and diagnosis of sarcoma
  • Investing in research to discover more effective treatments for sarcoma, primary bone and soft tissue tumours.

RCA is not affiliated with this support group. It is the responsibility of the patient and their carer(s) to determine whether this or any other support group or organisation listed on this website may provide some benefit to them.
