Neuroendocrine cancers effect men, women and children of all ages. More commonly located in the pancreasa long, flat organ that sits between the stomach and the spine that plays a key role in digestion and blood sugar regulation, lungs, abdomen, reproductive organs and bowel, neuroendocrine tumoura tissue mass that forms from groups of unhealthy cells (NET) symptoms can include weight loss, hot flushes, shortness of breath and diarrhoea.
NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia is an Australian charity at the forefront of efforts to raise awareness and understanding of NETs, both within the medical profession and the wider Australian public.
Over the last decade our foundation has raised millions of dollars for neuroendocrine cancer research and patient support, funding clinical trialsresearch studies performed to test new treatments, tests or procedures and evaluate their effectiveness on various diseases, a national specialist NET nurse helpline, facilitating patient support groups around the country and advocating for patient access to treatments.
Our purpose remains as important now as it was 10 years ago – to achieve earlier diagnosis for patients and to ultimately find a cure.
RCA is not affiliated with this organisation. It is the responsibility of the patient and their carer(s) to determine whether this or any other support group or organisation listed on this website may provide some benefit to them.
