Orla Mcnally

Associate Professor Orla McNally is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and sub-specialist surgical Gynaecological Oncologist. She is currently the Director of Oncology/ Gynaecology at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Gynaecological Tumour Stream Lead for the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer. Orla is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Melbourne. In addition to her duties at The Royal Women’s Hospital Orla provides clinical support to Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Originally from Ireland, Orla trained in general surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology Ireland and the UK and first came to Melbourne during 1998 when she began her training in gynae-oncology with Professor Michael Quinn. After five years as a consultant in the NHS in Somerset, England, Orla returned to Melbourne in 2009 as Professor Quinn’s successor with her husband, David.

Orla is passionate about multidisciplinary care and in particular providing women with the opportunity to enroll in clinical trials. She is a member of the Cancer Clinical Network for the Cancer Council Victoria, advisor to Ovarian Cancer Australia and a Board member of the Women’s Cancer Foundation.
