Dr Lewis Au is a Medical Oncologista doctor who specialises in the study, diagnosis and treatment of cancer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Neeson Lab), with a focus on kidneya pair of bean-shaped organs in the abdomen that are responsible for filtering excess water and waste products from the blood and converting them into urine to be removed from the body cancera disease where abnormal cells split without control and spread to other nearby body tissue and/or organs.
He obtained his undergraduate medical degree from The University of Melbourne in 2009, and his Medical Oncologythe study, diagnosis and treatment of cancer specialist qualification in 2017. From 2017-2022, he worked in London at The Royal Marsden Hospital as a Clinical Research Fellow, and as a Translational Research Scientist at The Francis Crick Institute.
While abroad, Lewis obtained a PhD on Cancer Genomics and Tumoura tissue mass that forms from groups of unhealthy cells Immunology through the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). His work focused on predictive biomarkers of immunotherapya treatment that uses a person's immune system to fight cancer treatment response in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinomacancer arising from tissues that line organs (kidney cancer), through in-depth analyses of patient tumour samples obtained from clinical trialsresearch studies performed to test new treatments, tests or procedures and evaluate their effectiveness on various diseases.
