Jeremy Lewin (MBBS FRACP) is a medical oncologista doctor who specialises in the study, diagnosis and treatment of cancer at the Peter MacCallum Cancera disease where abnormal cells split without control and spread to other nearby body tissue and/or organs Centre with expertise in sarcomacancer arising from bones and/or soft tissue and testicular cancer and an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. He is co-director of the Victorian AYA cancer service and has dedicated his career to improve the outcomes and experiences for young patients.
Jeremy’s research focuses on high-risk AYA sarcoma subtypes, improving access to clinical trialsresearch studies performed to test new treatments, tests or procedures and evaluate their effectiveness on various diseases for young people, and advancing models of quality cancer care. He has been actively involved in professional organisations, including the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, where he has championed the development of Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine.
He also holds leadership and strategic roles across a range of national and international organisations and is a frequent speaker at Victorian, Australian, and international forums on AYA oncologythe study, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, sarcoma and testicular cancer.
