This series of helpful, educational modules and supplementary resources have been developed specifically for healthcare professionals and those supporting people living with rare and less common cancers.
These resources have been created by Rare Cancers Australia as part of the Australian Cancer Nursing and Navigation Program, which is funded through the Government’s Australian Cancer Plan.
They are designed to provide practical, evidence-based knowledge while incorporating the lived experiences of patients. By highlighting real-world challenges, they aim to inform more compassionate, patient-centred care and contribute to improved outcomes.
Whether you are a primary health care nurse, a specialist oncology nurse, social work and allied health professional, or perhaps a carer or person with lived experience – you will find this series of targeted modules and materials tailored to your learning needs.
The current rare tumour focus areas for each module include gynaecological, thoracic, male reproductive cancers, sarcoma and lower digestive*. We encourage you to select the modules and sessions most relevant to your role and professional interests.
*Please note the following modules are under development and will be released in due course: thoracic (Nov 2025), male reproductive (Feb 2026), sarcoma (May 2026) and lower digestive (July 2026).
