Annabelle Potts

Our hearts were broken two years ago with Annabelle’s DIPG diagnosis. This morning our hearts were shattered to pieces when we lost our darling Annabelle. She left us quickly and peacefully.

I won’t say you gained your angel wings, as you already had them on earth. Everyone who’s life you touched know how generous and selfless you are. There are no adequate words to describe your beautiful heart. I am so incredibly privileged to have been your mother.

No complaint from Annabelle despite unrelenting sickness, before going to bed one night just a few weeks ago she giggled and said ‘I can’t wait for Christmas, so I can give everyone their presents’.

Your suffering has ended and ours has begun, a burden we will carry to know you are at peace, watching over us.
Despite never seeing our beautiful little girl graduate, get married or make any other milestone that those of us with healthy children often take for granted, Annabelle has had a profound and lasting effect on all who knew her. The government advised us this week that research for DIPG in Australia will be funded. Perhaps her last selfless act, and one that will continue to help others.

Rest in Peace, Annabelle.
