What is Pinnacle?

Pinnacle is an emerging platform for mentoring, collaboration and sharing across patient organisations. Patient organisations help change the world for patients and their families but it is hard work, often more difficult than running a business. We believe that through sharing, connection and supporting each other we can work together to improve the quality of care and strengthen the voice for patients in the region.

Guest Speakers

Richard will discuss the elements and considerations for strategic communications and explain how the RCA purpose and mission are core to the RCA communications approach. Reflecting on a recent project within Rare Cancers Australia, Richard will delve into two questions and how they shaped two very different outcomes ‘what can we do for you?’ verse ‘what can you do for us?’.

Patients and carers are why we exist. It is so important that we communicate with them in a way that is engaging and helps them to feel supported. Christine will talk about some of the ways that RCA tries to keep this a high priority for all of our communication. We recently redesigned our website to better communicate to patients and we would like to share our lessons learned in doing that.

James manages the Rare Cancers Australia communications strategy and planning, particularly around social media and other digital platforms. James will discuss how we use social media and give his insight in sharing powerful stories through social media, social media tips/tricks and important stakeholder considerations.

  • Discuss how our patient needs may have changed
  • Discuss strategies and lessons to adjust to the times
